In Makoto (Japanese for “honesty”) you take turns laying down cards from your hand. Either rows or the same numbers - but always higher than the person whose turn it was before you. Anyone who can do this can also use the cards from the middle or put something down. If no one but you can play anymore, you win the points of the cards played. But be careful: not all cards give points! If you manage to get rid of your hand cards first, you will be rewarded again. Makoto is about skillfully improving your hand cards and deciding when to continue playing or when to pass better.
